In July 2019, all of us at Hammers SC San Antonio were presented with a great opportunity to become affiliated with BVB International. Borussia Dortmund have for years been one of the best footballing teams in Germany at the first team level, but also are very well known for their academy and constant ability to develop and nurture young talent to perform at the next level. We feel this is a great opportunity for both sides involved in the affiliation.
BVB International will give our teams in the USA amazing opportunities which may have seemed unfathomable before. This great opportunity is great for everyone involved in the club even coaches and we now have the ability to learn from some of the best coaches in Europe and take those things home with us to our own teams. In turn, hopefully one day we will be able to allow some of our players from the USA to follow in the steps of players like Christian Pulisic to Germany. We all, as coaches and staff feel so incredibly honored to be part of this seemingly groundbreaking endeavor to discover and channel talent to Borussia Dortmund from the USA. Wearing the colors and crest of BVB International not only helps our players take pride in where they are playing now but have high hopes for their future with a clear path to work towards their dreams.
We are deeply honored and carry tremendous responsibility to train, communicate and educate our players and families in the Dortmund Way. Through parallel training strategies, the full integration of the Borussia Dortmund methodology and a close working relationship with the coaches at the BVB Academy our players will learn, grow and develop on and off the field with character, quality and the determination to be all that they can be.
